Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Leading International Institutions

One of the most significant achievements of the mission was the successful completion of negotiations and the signing of a quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between four leading organizations from China and Greece:

  • The Eye Hospital, School of Ophthalmology & Optometry of Wenzhou Medical University, one of the world's leading ophthalmic hospitals and academic institutions, ranked No. 1 in China for ophthalmology research.
  • Wenzhou Global Eye & Vision Innovation Hub (China Eye Valley), one of the world's foremost ecosystems for research, development, and commercialization of innovations in optometry, digital health, and medical technology.
  • Emmetropia Institute of Ophthalmology, the only Day Surgery Ophthalmology Center in Crete, based in Heraklion, Greece.
  • Emmetropia Research Lab (eyeRadar), the research laboratory developing the innovative eyeRadar platform for dyslexia detection using artificial intelligence and advanced eye-tracking technologies.

Official Signing of the MoU at Vision China 2026

The agreement was officially signed during the Vision China 2026 international conference in Tianjin, marking the first step toward launching a major clinical study in Crete focused on the prevention of myopia and reading difficulties. The initiative combines the expertise and research capabilities of leading institutions from both China and Greece.
