Acaras are a widespread group of insects (arthropods) that are found in large numbers on mattresses, carpets, carpets, lounges, etc. These are tiny sized arthropods. They belong to the Dermatophagoides gebus and to the Pyroglyphidae family. The dominant species in Greece are Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (mainland Greece) and Dermatophagoides farinae (islands). Their name derives from the fact that the mites themselves, their body parts and their exudates are transported by house dust, "house dust mites".
