With the central message "Give blood and keep the world beating", World Blood Donor Day was celebrated on June 14, 2021, highlighting the important contribution of voluntary blood donors in maintaining the pulse of the world, of life. and the health of our fellow human beings.
The 7th Health District of Crete, on the occasion of this year's celebration aims to inform and attract more conscious volunteer blood donors, the biggest challenge for the blood donation system of our country, by promoting the humanitarian dimension and eliminating any prejudice, fear. Thus, it proceeded to the creation of a digital QR icon (Quick Response Code).
By using mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) and scanning the digital icon, every citizen can easily and quickly visit a relevant special website, which was designed and is available on the site of the 7th Ministry of Culture of Crete. It provides valid information on issues of voluntary blood donation and the moral satisfaction it offers, of the blood donation process and the protection of the health of the Volunteer Blood Donor, as well information about when and where blood sampling takes place in each Regional Unit of Crete.
