The eyeRadar is a digital tool for the Rapid Assessment of Dyslexia and Abnormalities in Reading. It is IP protected and CE marked. It utilizes artificial intelligence algorithms and strict mathematical models to measure the reading skills of an individual using over 25 parameters. eyeRadar's team has several publications in peer reviewed journals (see links below). It utilizes a laptop with advanced eye-tracking capabilities and is the world’s first fast, digital, accurate, reproducible, and objective initial assessment of reading problems, with special focus on dyslexia.
eyeRadar's multidisciplinary team of doctors and scientists, who have been working together over the last decade, consists of ophthalmic surgeons, neurologists, child psychiatrists and psychologists, language pathologists, mathematicians and engineers, and has a solid world-class scientific background. Currently, the team has ongoing collaborations with prominent universities around the world: Harvard University in the USA, Cardiff Metropolitan University in the UK and the University of Pretoria in South Africa
Moreover, eyeRADAR has already been acknowledged by the Health Professional Council in South Africa as a novel assessment for reading difficulties.
In 2007, Dr. IM Aslanides assembles the multi-disciplinary team of scientists and founds Optotech Ltd., which becomes the first eye-tracking company in Greece. By 2008, the team achieves a breakthrough with the development of an eye-tracking application for reading evaluation. In 2009, driven by personal motivation, Dr. Aslanides leads research on dyslexia and reading difficulties. The team's efforts yield their first publication in the peer-reviewed journal DYSLEXIA by 2010. In 2011, a major research study in a private school expands their dataset significantly. By 2014, the team develops its proprietary eye-tracker and conducts large-scale research in public schools across Heraklion, Crete.
The year 2015 marks a milestone as the team secures domestic, European, and International patents for their digital eyeRadar screening tool. In 2016, conducting groundbreaking research in the United Kingdom, the team establishes eyeRadar as a universal screening tool for dyslexia. The publication of results in PLOS ONE in 2017 solidifies their reputation. In 2018, Optotech Ltd. initiates two clinical trials in the USA and UK in collaboration with renowned universities, Harvard University and Cardiff Metropolitan University. Achieving CE mark certification in 2021, the eyeRadar tool gains recognition from the Greek Ministry of Health, enabling widespread adoption across the EU. In 2023, Optotech Ltd. expands its research to Cyprus, initiating a major observational study in public schools across the country.
We believe that nobody should be left behind because of dyslexia.
Our mission is to help every child change their educational potential by providing a smart screening tool for dyslexia and reading abnormalities that is fast, objective, and most importantly actionable, so that the right therapies can be applied.
The eyeRadar assessment tool is the result of a 14 years combined effort of a multidisciplinary team of passionate scientists from world class universities such as Harvard, Columbia, and Cornell. It is reliable, objective, and fast reading assessment tool which quantifies the severity of the dyslexia or any other reading problem numerically and then provides the appropriate, tailored-made treatment that will help individuals overcome their problem.
If you can measure it, the you can improve it.
